Stephen Burnette

Business Development Manager

Stephen has an extensive professional career with one foot firmly planted in education and the other in digital technology. After leaving the film and animation industry in 2009, Stephen taught Arts and AV Technology courses for 9 years for the Austin Independent School District. He taught a plethora of courses centered around digital media production, such as filmmaking, animation, graphic design and video game design. In these courses he taught 21st century professional and technical skills to help students discover and cultivate their passions, and prepare for their future. Stephen is proud to admit that many of his students went on to earn industry software certifications, and earn top awards in state and national film and animation festivals. A handful of his students have successful careers in the film industry today.

During his tenure as a teacher, Stephen served in various leadership roles outside of the classroom, such as the CTE department instructional coach, founding member of the Campus Literacy Team, Co-Chair of the Campus Advisory Council, and as the Lead Teacher Mentor for new teachers. After nine years in the classroom, Stephen went into education administration for his district’s CTE department as an Instructional Support Analyst. In this role, he managed district CTE programs, and was the instructional lead for Arts and AV Technology program of study. Along with his main duties, Stephen led district teams in curriculum writing, professional development, student industry based certifications, and software approval.

As a school administrator, Stephen found a keen knack for leading various education technology partnership programs and initiatives across the district. Such opportunities led to him leaving education to explore the SaaS industry, where he spent the past year working in customer success, solutions consulting and sales. His most recent role was at Adobe as a Product Success Manager for mid-market Creative Cloud customers. This experience allowed him to continue his passion for digital media technology, and gain valuable insight into the needs and challenges in today’s digital markets. Stephen has developed a unique passion for nurturing long-term customer relationships, and ensuring the success of their investment in a company’s products and services. Stephen is excited to leverage his knowledge and experience in both education and technology to provide the best solutions and services for EdTechTeacher’s customers.

Stephen holds a BS in Radio Television and Film from the University of Texas at Austin, and M.Ed in Education Leadership from Texas State University.
