Doug’s Bio
Douglas Kiang is a technology integration specialist with over 20 years teaching experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. He currently works at Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he teaches computer science and provides technology professional development to the faculty. As an instructor and presenter for EdTechTeacher, an Apple Distinguished Educator, and a Google for Education Certified Trainer, Douglas speaks at various schools and instructs at EdTechTeacher workshops. Douglas has also keynoted at several conferences and events in the United States and China.
In 2007, Douglas was one of two Massachusetts teachers to be honored as an Apple Distinguished Educator, recognizing his innovative work with iPods in the middle school curriculum. Douglas is a sought-after Apple integration expert who has presented on advanced iPad integration, iBooks Author, iTunesU, and other Apple-related topics. A lifelong gamer, he is the author of five bestselling game strategy guides and has written popular articles on Minecraft and gamification.
Douglas holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Tufts University and a Master’s Degree in Technology Innovation & Education from Harvard University.
